Chinese Guqin Music (intangible heritage of humanity, 2003)

Guqin music includes great achievements in Chinese instrumental music. The zither-like instrument is one of the world's earliest stringed musical instruments still extant, with a history of about 3,000 years. The art of the guqin consists of the manufacture of the instrument and its strings, the scores, music, history, songs, societies and schools. It has had a wide influence on China's musical, aesthetic, sociocultural and philosophical history. The guqin is a representative of ancient Chinese spiritual culture in music.
